The County has main line rail access via the CSX rail network. The Port of Wilmington, NC (1.5 hours away); the Port of Charleston (2.5 hours away), and the Port of Savannah (3 hours away), are easily accessible from Dillon County.
Florence Darlington Airport provides commuter flight access to Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Myrtle Beach International Airport is just over an hour away.

Dillon County’s highway network includes I-95 which runs the length of the County from nearby Florence, SC to the south to the North Carolina state line to the north. Many of Dillon County’s business and industry located on or near I-95- the leading north-south trade route in the U.S.
The County is within 30 minutes of Interstate 20 at Florence, a major east-west trade route in the U.S. Major state and U.S. Highways include US 301/501 which is a major north-south connector through the County and SC 9 which connects Dillon County to Myrtle Beach to the east and as far as Spartanburg County in the Upstate of South Carolina. SC Highway 34 is also a major east-west highway through Dillon County.
Dillon County receives rail service from one of the nation’s top rail companies – CSX. The CSX lines in Dillon are midway between two major CSX terminals in Hamlet, NC, and Florence, SC. CSX also provides service to Inland Port Dillon with access to both the Port of Charleston and the Port of Wilmington in North Carolina. The Port of Savannah is just over 3 hours away.
AMTRAK Passenger Service
Amtrak, the national rail passenger carrier, provides daily service from Dillon with the Palmetto, which runs between Savannah, Georgia, and New York City. Trains stop at the Dillon station, originally opened for passenger use by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad in 1904. CSX owns both railroad lines which cross Dillon.
Dillon County Airport (DLC), located 3 miles north of the Town of Dillon, is the local general aviation airport. DLC has a 3,000-foot runway that offers a variety of services including aviation fuel, hangars, aircraft charters and rentals, and pilot services.
Florence Regional Airport (FLO) is approximately 30 minutes from Dillon County and provides daily flights to domestic and international air service from Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport (ATL) and Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Nearby Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) is approximately 1.5 hours east of Dillon County.
